Turner Broadcasting Internship

Web Development Intern for PGA/Rydercup Team

Overview

In the Fall of 2016, I joined the PGA/Rydercup digital team at Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta. As a web development intern, I started by assisting the project managers and developers with the upcoming 2016 Rydercup competition. The team manages the official Rydercup.com website where they provide real-time event statistics, course information, and golfer profiles.

While I ramped myself up on the LAMP/MAMP technology stack the developers used, I assisted by adding assets to the website and performing QA on new functionality in Drupal. During the live Rydercup event, I also worked with the team to test live functionality.

After the Rydercup, I worked on the PGA.com website fixing advertisement layout issues using javascript. I was also able to sit in on meetings around the PGA Championship website redesign. All in all, I gained a lot of good exposure to Turner's business and technical processes.
